Seminar in Budapest about publicity
A group
of TEJO members spent a week discussing all aspects of
publicity from 27th April to 4th May at the European Youth
Centre (EYC) in Budapest. The seminar was a great success
from the participants' point of view thanks to its practical
orientation. The participants immediately put their newly
acquired skills into practice by writing news articles,
interviewing their colleagues and speaking before an
audience. This last exercise was particularly popular
because it gave an opportunity to observe one's own
performance in a short speech recorded on video.
There was intensive cooperation with the local media with study visits to radio and television stations and to newspaper offices. Interviews conducted during these visits were broadcast by Hungarian Radio nearly every morning during the seminar.
The participants had a chance to explore the city during night walks and interesting evening activities. It was also possible to see the city during the day despite the full seminar programme.
It was an excellent seminar with very enthusiastic participants and it is certainly worthwhile repeating such events at the EYC, not only because of the good atmosphere and facilities available in the centre to the organisers.
