- What the heck is
Esperanto? - This first section is mostly links to information
NOT on my
site about
Stanford.
Links to Esperanto
information in lots of languages and here too.

Isn't Esperanto "neutral" or a "communist plot" or "dead"? How can
Esperanto have a culture if it doesn't have a country? Isn't
having a culture contradictory to the ideals of Esperanto?
- You'll have to come to the class for discussions about this. But, check
the
following 2 links and if you still have specific questions, please write
to me and maybe i'll add it to a FAQ here.

- Esperanto at Stanford University - my site
- "I can't go to classes! What can i do?"
If you live
out of the area or have a time conflict, etc. then check these
alternatives.
lernu.net - This site is
getting rave
reviews. Perhaps my class witll be made obsolete? If you use this
resource, please let me know how it goes.

ikurso.net - I don't know
anything about
their methodology, but their website is very professional looking (despite
the stolen graphic from yahoo :). Enrique, who comes to our class often,
is one of the tutors for this class and he highly recommends it. He says
that you probably need 15 hours to complete the 12 lessons and then there
is the Intermediate course based on "Gerda Malaperis". The
tutors are arranged via the Nesto Project. Give it
a try.

Online FEC
- Free Esperanto Course - the traditional old course with an e-mail tutor.
|
FREE postal
course from ELNA (Esperasnto League for
North America) - They, of course, list lots of other ways to learn and
sell textbooks as well as dictionaries, works of fiction, CDs, buttons,
etc. and run conventions of Esperantists all over North America.
