The TKEK program will be created by the members of the group and listed at the hostel on Friday evening at the Interkona Vespero. All activities should be interactive, fun for all ages, getting everyone talking and practicing Esperanto as much as possible (no lectures, please). If there are too many program ideas to fit into the schedule, we will choose the best ideas as a group on Friday evening.
Locations available for activities include the common areas inside the Hostel (living room, sitting room, dining room), and the courtyard and lawn areas outside. Outings to walkable sites are also an option if you would like to lead a group to one of many nearby sites of interest: City Hall; Central Library; César Chávez Plaza; K Street Mall; State Capitol; Old Sacramento; and Railroad Museum.
The Sacramento Youth Hostel provides a large kitchen for all it's guests
which we will share with non-TKEK guests. Simple self-serve breakfasts will be provided by the hostel and are included with your lodging fee. Lunches will not be provided by TKEK. We will be eating out at restaurants in groups. Dinners will be simple dishes prepared by volunteers from our group, meals will be planned ahead of time & ingredients will be provided by TKEK. The Registration cost is based on Age, as a proxy for ability to pay: under 18 = $25; 18-35 = $35; over 35 = $45.
Lodging type:
- men's or women's dorm room bunk bed ($40/night) - 10 male and 10 female total - only 2 and 4 each left!
- SOLD OUT - private room for up to 1 person with one single bed ($105/night) - 1 total sold out
- SOLD OUT - private room for up to 2 people with one bed ($110/night) - 2 total sold out
- SOLD OUT - private room for up to 4 people with 2 beds ($130/night) - 2 total sold out
Number of nights: Friday, Saturday, and/or Sunday
Check in time is 3:00 pm on Friday and check out time on Monday is 11:00 a.m. (guests are welcome to hang out in common areas after checking out until 8:00 p.m. and the hostel can store luggage during that time.)
Friday dinner potluck preference:

- will eat but not contribute dish ($10)
Meals preference for Saturday dinner, and/or Sunday dinner:
- will eat meal provided by TKEK ($10 each)
- will help prepare meal and eat for free ($0) - limit of 5 volunteers
